Braintree is a payment gateway that can be synced to ShootQ so that your clients can pay their invoices via credit card. A client can enter their credit card information on a ShootQ invoice, Braintree will charge their card, and then the invoice will automatically be marked paid for you. It's a very seamless experience for both you and the client.
To sync your Braintree account to ShootQ, go to Settings > Payments, Invoices, & Taxes > Collection Types. Then follow these steps.
- Click on the Braintree icon in the list of payment gateways
- Enter your Merchant ID, Public Key, and Private Key. This article will help you locate these credentials in your Braintree account.
- Save your information
Once your account is synced, you'll then be able to select Braintree as the payment method when creating a proposal or invoice.
Note - Refunds: Just like all ShootQ integrated merchant accounts, if you need to refund a client for a payment collect via Braintree it's best to do it on the invoice in ShootQ. Navigate to the invoice and click the Refund button next to the payment you would like to refund. Braintree will then process the refund and the transaction will be recorded on the ShootQ invoice.
To remove Braintree from your ShootQ account, just mouse over it under the Settings tab and click the red X. After that, Braintree will no longer be a payment option in ShootQ. Any invoices that were using Braintree will revert to 'Collect Manually' as the payment method.
